'My Early Years' - by Ella Teua
"I was born in 1971 and was given my name by the doctor who delivered me. At birth there were complications because I was born premature and I also had asthma so I had to stay in hospital for exactly one year. I was released on my first birthday, and then I visited the hospital regularly till I was three years of age..."
Despite this difficult start to life and the many challenges that were to follow at home and at school, Ella looks back on her early years as the "good old fun days".
